Skaret is built from full log timber, darker and heavier than the other houses at Sommarbukt, standing on the same stretch of the Ulsfjord, around one hour from Tromsø, north of the Arctic Circle. Inside, the wood turns pale — walls, stairs, ceiling beams all in light timber, hung with a line of pendant lights over the dining table that catches the fjord light and holds it after dark.

The living areas run the length of the window wall, so the Lyngen Alps stay in view from the sofa, the table, and the wood stove alike. A staircase in pale timber climbs past the entrance to the upper level. Furnished in soft grey linen against the wood, Skaret reads calmer and cooler than Bjørka's warmer, closer lines.

Set back slightly from the water, Skaret takes in the widest angle of the fjord — mountains on both sides, the water running the full width of the glass. Far from any light of its own, it is one of the clearer places at Sommarbukt to watch the Northern Lights arrive.

Tromsø Airport is 67 km away, the city itself around 50 minutes by car. At Skaret, the view does not change, only the light does.
